Berde Renewables, a portfolio company of I Squared Capital, has signed an 8.4 MWp solar power purchase agreement with KCC Malls and Biotech Farms. The PPA was signed on 22 August 2025 and announced on 28 August 2025. It covers KCC Mall Gensan, KCC Mall Marbel, KCC Mall Zamboanga, and Biotech Farms' agro-industrial facility in South Cotabato.

Under the zero-capex structure, Berde fully finances the systems and handles engineering, procurement and construction, plus long-term operations and maintenance. The portfolio is expected to generate about 13 million kWh a year, with estimated monthly energy savings of ₱5.8 million and about 9,600 tonnes of CO2 offset a year.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to making renewable energy a core part of KCC's growth and modernization." — Arvin Chan, CEO, KCC Malls

Berde says it has 45.7 MW established in the Philippines, 31 MW under construction and a 144 MW pipeline.
